A quick reply and an apology

Yesterday I posted how things went at the craftshow. After speaking with my neighbor who has had a booth at these fall festival’s she told me that the coordinators like to get feedback from their vendors.    Having this information last night I did email the coordinator and express what I thought I was an error in judgment by placing the video game booth run by teenagers from the local high school in the midst of local businesses who had paid a fee for space.     I was given an apology and was told that if they had been aware that they were going to be having the video game booth they never would have allowed it.  I was then told when the teens asked to set up the booth the PTA was under the impression that they were going to be selling bracelets to raise money for their class.   I have no problem with the teens raising money for their class. The kids were well mannered also. The problem I had was as a vendor who had paid a fee to have space it was unfair to us and a disadvantage to us by having a video game booth there.   I did explain to her that other than the error in judgment that I was happy to participate this year and would be looking forward to next year’s festival.   Hopefully, they will use this feedback as a guideline for next year.   I do feel that my business was at a disadvantage because of the location.   I was happy to see though that they did take my feedback seriously and were willing to apologize and did respond quickly to my feedback.

Creekside Elementary Fall Festival

Well today was the fall festival at Creekside. I enjoyed doing this one last year and this year as well. I was a little disappointed to find out that I was in a low traffic area and right next to the Guitar Hero booth that the 10th Graders had set up for their fundraiser. I do not have a problem with them using the venue to raise money for their class so they can have a Prom but putting them next to a Jewelry booth was not the best call. I found that when their line would grow any length then it blocked shoppers from seeing what I had on display. I do plan to do this one again next year as it is a local event to my area and gives me some good exposure. I spoke with my neighbor whose children attend the school where the festival is held. She suggested that I send some feedback to the coordinator. I have emailed her this evening and stated what I thought to be a drawback to the setup that I had this year. Last year I was in a high traffic area and my numbers from last year prove it.

Latham United Methodist Shop till ya drop update

Today was a long and productive day at shop till ya drop. I am very happy with today’s turnout. This one is a must do. The entry fee is so low you almost have a hard time turning this one down. I think I will be keeping this one on my Calendar for next year. Everyone there is so friendly I always meet some very unique and interesting vendors at these things. Hopefully next weekend at Creekside will go well.

Last year I was able to partake in this wonderful event to benefit a local methodist women’s group. This year I will be making a return visit. It is Saturday Nov 7th. This year they have lengthened the show by 2 hours. I think that is a benefit to vendors like me. It is such a worthwhile cause and I am glad to be a part of it again. It is also not expensive to enter either and these are just 2 of the many reasons that I will continue to do small local shows like this. I tend to do better at the smaller ones than I do at the larger ones. Hopefully it will be a good one again this year.

I know it has been a while since I have made some planned updates but internet connection issues prevented me from making the updates earlier.   Starting today the Turquoise and Silver Bracelet and earring set is available.   As always I have listed it as a set and the option to purchase just the earrings or just the bracelet.

Table with Foldiing Handles

For the last year I have been on the lookout for a folding table with handles.  Something that I can carry with me to craft shows.  Last year I borrowed one from a family friend and loved it.    I know  at one time they had them at Sam’s club but they are $85 and could not justify spending that much money on a table that I use only about half a dozen times a year.   This morning after breakfast I was speaking with a friend and she said they had what I was looking for at  Lowe’s and they were on sale for $40 so I told her I was running out the door to get one as we spoke.  Well I get to Lowe’s and find them only you cannot see that they have handles on them.   So after a few minutes I get some help and the tables turn out to be exactly what I was looking for.   So now I am prepared for my next outdoor craft show with a table.  Now if I could only get some more pieces made and photographed.

Updating My Store

Well my plan was to make some updates to my store on Saturday did not go as planned.  The internet did not make it possible to make the needed updates when I wanted to.   I still have plans to make more updates in the coming weeks.   When I put a new piece in the store I will update the blog at the same time.   I have made a couple of new pieces just do not have the pictures yet.    My husband and I have had problems with our internet provider on and off for a while now.  Saturday morning it was not a usable connection at all.   Seems like every time I want to update my site the internet makes it nearly impossible to do that.
